In Q1 2025, a total of 4.1 million arrivals and more than 10.5 million overnight stays were recorded in mass accommodation establishments in the Czech Republic. The average length of stay was 3.54 days. The capital city of Prague recorded the highest number of visitors and overnight stays, followed by the Hradec Králové and South Moravia regions. In terms of the number of overnight stays, the Hradec Králové Region came second, followed by the Karlovy Vary Region.
In terms of foreign guests, visitors from Germany, Poland and Slovakia dominated, but significant numbers also came from Great Britain, Italy and Ukraine. The data confirms that the number of foreign tourists increased by 1.86 % in the first quarter compared to last year. More domestic tourists (52.49 %) than foreign tourists (47.51 %) are still staying in HUZ. Regional differences in the average length of stay indicate a heterogeneous structure of the offer – while in the Karlovy Vary region guests stayed on average 6.09 days, in the South Moravian region only 2.66 days and in the Vysočina region 2.52 days.
